Detox Smoothie Recipe
What’s my favourite detox smoothie recipe? Well I thought I would tell you about one me and my kids love! It’s a virgin piña colada! We love coconut in our house, and there’s nothing to make you feel more like it’s summer than the taste of coconut and pineapple combined!
So, here’s my omega 3 rich recipe. Enjoy! (cocktail umbrella optional!):
Virgin piña colada
Serves 1
1 cup coconut milk
1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen, not tinned)
1 teaspoon Maca powder (a great adaptogenic herb ideal for stress resistance, immune function and hormone balance)
1 heaped teaspoon chia seeds – these seeds will only grind in a very powerful blender like a NutriBullet or Vitamix. If you don’t have one, use ready ground or soaked flaxseed, also rich in omega 3.
Put everything into a blender, whizz up and serve.
