We all experience perimenopause and menopause uniquely.  The “Second Spring” (a term originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine) reframes this life stage as a time of renewal, deep wisdom and rebirth… rather than ageing and decline.  But I know when you’re in the midst of challenging symptoms, whether physically or emotionally, it can be so tough to embrace this journey.

Very often we don’t have the time to focus on nurturing ourselves, after years of nurturing others.

Yet there are so many simple things you can do to help yourself during the transition and beyond… whether you’re approaching perimenopause, full on in the midst of it, or you’ve been in menopause for some time.

As a healthcare professional who has supported women through perimenopause and beyond for over 15 years, I am so passionate about giving you simple, daily tools you can use to help bring back a little more balance during this phase.  So that you can embrace your second spring with more vigour, excitement and see it as a time for growth and development.

In this nurturing women’s day retreat, we’ll gather to learn how to create a self-care toolbox.  You’ll experience deep rest – with 2 yoga practices designed to help support you through perimenopause and beyond.  This includes soothing breathwork practices, guided meditation, easy to follow Hatha and restorative yoga postures and a restful Crystal bowl soundbath to end our day.

You’ll also have 2 nutrition, herbal and lifestyle workshops – where we’ll talk about how to optimally nourish yourself during your second spring – from bone health to maintaining  muscles, managing brain fog and supporting your energy, your state of calm and symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and poor sleep.

You’ll leave armed with not only a carefully selected goody bag, but a complete wellness toolbox so that you can take back your wellness into your own hands.

I really look forward to seeing you there.
Here’s what to expect from the retreat day:

9:30am:  Arrive and Herbal teas, refreshing juice shot.

9:45 – 11:00am:  Gentle Hatha yoga class, incorporating movement, posture, breathwork and relaxation to support nervous system calm, hormone balance, strong bodies and soothed minds.

11:00 – 11:15am:  Herbal teas, snacks, connection time.

11:15 – 12:15am: Nutrition, herbs and lifestyle workshop:  part 1.  What’s happening in your body in perimenopause and menopause? Understanding your hormones and how they relate to every organ system in your body is truly powerful… so that you have better knowledge and a practical toolbox to help bring back harmony.  In part 1, we’ll focus on key dietary strategies to aid hormone harmony.

12:15 to 13:15.  Light Vegetarian lunch, herbal teas, nourishing treats.

13:15 – 2:15pm.  Rising up: embracing your power and strength in your second spring. Imagine feeling the best you could feel in menopause? Strong bones, brilliant brain, powerful muscles.  In part 2, we’ll explore more about key nutrients, superfoods and herbs you can use in your daily life to feel truly your best.  We’ll also discuss common questions around collagen, creatine and other menopause supplements.  What do you really need?
