Hi I’m Louise Slope, Dip ION mBANT CNHC. I’m a fully qualified and registered Nutritional Therapist, Mum of 2 and I love cooking and creating new family meals.
My specialist areas include:
- Pregnancy and Postnatal Recovery
- Introducing solids
- Children’s Health: particularly restrictive eating, gut health, ADHD, Autism, immunity, intolerance/allergies.
My Journey to Nutrition
My path into children’s nutrition wasn’t just driven by professional interest, it was deeply personal. When my son began showing signs of severe picky eating, the usual reassurances like “he’ll grow out of it” didn’t sit right with me. Mealtimes were stressful, and I sensed there was something more going on.
As I studied and trained, I uncovered the complex reasons behind eating difficulties, things like gut imbalances, sensory sensitivities, anxiety around food, and undiagnosed intolerances. Armed with this knowledge, I started making gentle, realistic changes at home and slowly, things began to shift.
Now, I use that same insight to guide other parents through similar challenges. You don’t have to feel lost or overwhelmed at the dinner table. There is a way forward.
Because I’ve been there, I bring compassion and understanding to every family I support. My approach is always non-judgmental, practical, and tailored to your child’s unique needs.
I’ve also completed specialist training in child nutrition and neurodiversity, including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and extreme picky eating, so I can help children who experience food differently feel more comfortable and confident at mealtimes.
As Catherine’s clinic associate, she refers clients to me, especially when her waiting list is long. Catherine is my clinic mentor, as the more senior and experienced nutritional therapist, we regularly get together to discuss any clients she refers to me. The benefit of 2 therapists providing input on your case when you work with me.
A Bespoke Approach to Nutrition
Every parent wants their child to enjoy food and eat well, but changing eating habits, especially with picky eaters, doesn’t happen overnight. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. My role as a Nutritional Therapist is to guide you with realistic, personalised advice that fits into everyday family life.
Together, we’ll set achievable goals based on your child’s individual needs and introduce simple changes that work within your routine. Progress comes through small steps, not pressure. If something doesn’t work, we’ll adapt and find what does.
This is a collaborative process. I’ll provide clear strategies and ongoing support, but the most meaningful changes happen at home, with your commitment and consistency. It’s not about perfection, but steady progress.
With the right tools, patience, and encouragement, your child can build a healthy, lifelong relationship with food. I’m here to walk that journey with you, one step at a time.
