What is the Shattered Mums Recovery Programme?

I know what it's like to feel like you can barely lift your head throughout the day, or concentrate on what you're doing... I was once a Shattered Mum too.  Yes me, a nutritional therapist! 

 

My kids were over the baby stage... but I still didn't feel like I had my energy back.  My health started to deteriorate, I was putting on weight, I didn’t feel like I could manage stress anymore and I just felt like I wasn’t the Mum or wife I thought I’d be.

 

Yep… so many of us go through this, and I had to really work out what would get my health back on track, and it wasn’t the typical dietary advice out there. 

 

I was also seeing more and more mums in my clinic who had growing kids that were no longer babies, and sleepless nights weren’t so much of an issue… but they were STILL shattered, anxious, hormonal, feeling guilty that they weren't doing a good job, unable to lose the baby weight (even years down the line)… and juggling far too many plates that felt like they were all about to crash down.  Sounds familiar, right?

 

It feels like more help is given to mums in those early months and years of our babies lives… but it seems to stop as soon as the toddler years start coming to an end and school life is looming.  Yet often this is when us Mums can begin to feel most stressed, more frazzled and knackered, unable to juggle the continual demands of day to day life.

I’m happy to tell you that I’m now in the best health ever…I hardly ever get a cold or tummy bug, I’m feeling fit, strong and full of energy… and those niggley chronic health conditions that stirred their head have now disappeared.

 

I feel like I’m winning most days (there’s still the odd day when things don’t go to plan…) but I make sure my body can cope with being busy. I am full of energy, calmer and love the food I eat!

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the lessons take place and what if I can't make it?   

 

The meetings will be via Zoom - a really easy to use meeting software that's free to use - I'll send you the link a couple of days before our first meeting so you can get yourself signed up.  You'll also be sent recordings of all the lessons to catch up and watch again.

What if I have a medical issue, take medication or have food intolerances.  Can I still join?

 

Yes you can, but I'll be asking everyone to fill in a brief medical questionnaire before we start, so that I can make any adaptations for you as we go.  I may also ask you to speak to your doctor before you start.

 

Will there be supplements to buy?  

 

Diet and lifestyle changes always come first... but supplements can help speed up your journey, so I'll be making some supplement recommendations if you wish to purchase them. But this isn't essential.  You'll also get 15% lifetime discount on any supplements you purchase... so you can continue to use them after the course has finished at the discounted price. 

 

You mention that this is a pilot course... what does this mean? 

 

This is so exciting... what it means is that you can help me build my course, by giving me feedback about the programme and its delivery along the way.  That's why I've brought the price of the programme right down for you, but it doesn't mean that you won't get the same great, professional service and advice I always offer my clients.  It just means that some of the course materials may not have a logo yet, there might be some programme handouts that are not designed by a professional but instead are word documents I'll email to you... and also I'll be asking you for feedback along the way.

 

Will I get a course pack or notes?   

 

Yes in week 1, I'll be sending out a course pack via email which explains the basic principles of how you're going to eat over the 4 weeks, some "homework" sheets to fill in so that you can show me the dietary changes you've made, health goals you've set yourself and daily motivation tasks.  Then as the weeks go on, you'll receive meal ideas, recipes, tips, meditation videos... and anything I think you need to keep you on track and motivated. 

 

I also create a course Dropbox page for you as well - so you can access everything you need in one place.
